Get Involved

If you are considering making Chelmsford Vineyard Church your home; for us, membership is involvement.  So, we’d ask you do a few things;

  • We encourage people to attend events as regularly as they can. (See What's On)

  • These are safe places to grow in relationship with God and with others. A place to know and be known. (More info on small groups below)

  • We all need an opportunity to serve and to give away some of that which God has given us. In the Vineyard, ‘everybody gets to play.’

    Find a Team

  • Giving away a proportion of our income to the Church God has called us to serve is an important part of being a disciple. (More info on our giving page)

  • Finally, if you are moving from another church (as opposed to never going to church before or being between churches) it is very important to us that you go to the leader there and ask them to release you with their blessing.

Sunday at ARU

We gather together each week as a church family to spend time together and welcome new people in a relaxed environment. We love to spend time singing worship songs to God and meeting with Him, learning more about Jesus through practical, biblical teaching and allowing Him to powerfully impact our lives as we invite the Holy Spirit to meet with us.

Vineyard Kids (primary years) enables our children to do all that the adults do in a fun environment appropriate for them.  Sign your children into Vineyard Kids before the adult gathering begins and they will be ready to see you again at the end of the adult service!

Check out our CV Kids and CV Youth pages to find out about Sundays if you’re under 18!

We meet on the ground floor of The Sawyers Building, Anglia Ruskin University.

Sundays, refreshments from 9.45am and the service begins at 10am

There is a barrier to get into the car park, but our team will be on hand to tap you in.  But if you want to have the code, please email info@chelmsfordvineyard.org.

Small Groups

Our small groups are a mixture of online and in-person, they are the best way to connect and get to know others.  A place to belong and build friendships and share life with one another – listening, learning and supporting each other through its ups and downs.  Our groups are for people local to the Chelmsford area and usually meet midweek evening, weekly or fortnightly.

Serve

‘Everybody gets to play’ – John Wimber.

We all need an opportunity to serve and to give away some of that which God has given us.

Serve on a Team

Getting involved on a team—whether it’s on a Sunday or during the week—helps make everything we do possible, from gathering together to worship, to reaching out and serving our community. It’s also a great way to meet new people, grow your skills, and really feel part of church life.

For us, being a member simply means getting stuck in!

There are loads of ways to serve—whether it’s just now and then, once a month, or more regularly. Just fill in the form and let us know what you’re interested in. Someone from the team will be in touch soon!

Pray with Us

All we do at the Vineyard is underpinned by prayer. We love to pray and seek God, at all times and in all things. We take time in our smallgroups & Sunday Services to pray & wait on God. We also set aside a specific time on a Tuesday morning on zoom (6.30am-7am Term time only) to bring our thanks, petitions and intercession before him. If you want the zoom link contact us for more information

Love People

We believe that we have something amazing to share; a faith-filled, life-transforming relationship with God, a growing community that expresses that to one another, and that also reaches out to those who don’t yet know him.

We love to show that in practical ways, with a simple message to people that God loves them.

#LoveYourNeighbour – Small Groups once a term have a sum of money to use it however they would like to love their neighbours in practical ways.  Over the years we have; decorated houses, done garden make overs, given away hot chocolates and bacon butties at football matches and school gates.  We have blessed the local Police, Hospital Staff, Refuse collectors and teachers with hampers, goodie bags and Joy bags.  There really is no limit to how we can seek to be a blessing to our neighbours and do as Jesus said; love your neighbour as yourself!

Ministry on the Street – At different points throughout the year we gather those that want to go out onto the streets of Chelmsford to talk to people about Jesus.  Usually by offering little chocolates as a small token of God’s love for them.  We offer to pray for healing for people, ask God to speak to us for the encouraging of the people we chat to and on occasions get to share our faith with them!

Growbaby - Our vision at Growbaby is to seek every child in Chelmsford clothed.  Big vision and we are making in-roads to see that happen.  Weekly we welcome over 100 people to our venue to pick up items they need, come in for a chat or to re-donate items that are no longer needed.  Everything has been donated from the local community.  Our team is made up of people from within the church and volunteers who have discovered what we are doing and want to be part of it.

Organisations we partner with locally, nationally and internationally.

Foodbank and CAP – We partner with both the Chelmsford Foodbank and Christians Against Poverty.  We have monthly food collections to donate to the Foodbank as well as supporting them financially and being a referral agency.  And we support the local Christians Against Poverty centre.  We love partnering with other churches to see the Kingdom break in and serve our city with generosity and extravagant kindness and compassion.

Love the One – Love The One India focus on health, education and childcare to create a world where children’s rights are realised in practical ways to allow freedom for every child to reach the their full potential. Take a look.

LIV - LIV South Africa place orphaned and vulnerable children in a family environment where all their needs are met by taking a holistic approach to physical, emotional and spiritual healing. Take a look at their website for details of their work.
